Two French projects have been named winners of the international ELCA Trend Award 2026: the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Campus and the Necker Hospital Garden – Mother and Child Centre. The prestigious award was presented on 15 September 2026 and recognises innovative projects that set an example for the landscape construction industry. ELCA-President Henrik Bos presented the award at the GaLaBau trade fair in Nuremberg. The laudatory speech was delivered by Yasin Otuzoğlu, Chair of the ELCA Committee of Firms.
The ELCA Trend Award jury, comprising members of the ELCA Executive Board and other landscape industry experts, visited a total of five projects in France. In the end, the jury did not select just one winner, but two outstanding green projects. In his speech, Henrik Bos said: „The winning projects demonstrate that sustainable landscape architecture is far more than simply adding greenery. It can reimagine existing spaces, enhance biodiversity, preserve history, and at the same time create places that people value and enjoy today and for generations to come. It is precisely this combination of environmental responsibility, social value and outstanding design that makes both projects truly deserving recipients of the ELCA Trend Award.“
Two Winners, Two Pioneering Concepts
Winner: Necker Hospital Garden – Mother and Child Centre
Landscape architects: Phytoconseil and DVA PAYSAGES
Landscape contractor: Id Verde (agence IDF Est)
Client: Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris
The jury was particularly impressed by the project’s exemplary and forward-looking approach. Rather than developing additional areas, existing buildings were deconstructed to create a green space for recreation for families and visitors to the children’s hospital. Particular attention was also given to the carefully considered design of the grounds. Meticulously selected plants with distinctive foliage in shades of gold and silver create an attractive appearance while also promoting biodiversity. Details such as hedges designed at a height appropriate for children demonstrate the project’s strong commitment to child-friendly, user-centred planning.
Winner: PSG Campus
Landscape architect: Agence Neveux Rouyer
Landscape contractors: Pinson Paysage // Marcel Villette // Lachaux Paysage
Client: Paris Saint-Germain
The second award-winning project stood out for the exemplary way in which it combines nature, history, sustainable landscape design and sports facilities. Paris Saint-Germain Campus is sensitively integrated into the surrounding landscape and local ecosystems, while also reflecting the site’s historic use as a vegetable garden. Thus, the project provides an impressive example of how cultural heritage and contemporary landscape design can be successfully combined.
A particular focus is placed on restoring and promoting biodiversity: only native plant species that also occur in the neighbouring nature reserve were selected. The concept is complemented by sustainable rainwater management designed to support natural water cycles.
