ARtemis project meeting in Nijmegen, Netherlands
24-11-2022

ELCA - European Landscape Contractors Association is a partner of the ARtemis project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the EU. The overarching goal of the project is to give high tech opportunities to practitioners and modernize the training curricula. New technology is here, and is already being adopted in the industry. It is therefore natural that it should also be adopted into the crafts.
Three areas of expertise, biology, floristry and landscaping, will benefit greatly from the adoption of AR/VR, 3D printing and 360° videos. The project goal is to figure out how to best use these technologies in teaching and the practice of the work.

This innovative project started on January 1st, 2022 and will end October 30th, 2024.

Other partners are from Norway, Germany, Cyprus, Netherlands and Denmark.

Last week, our team (Henrik Bos, Raili Laas and Anu Vaagen) participated in the project meeting in Yuverta MBO Nijmegen in the Netherlands. The partners had the opportunity to test the AR and VR glasses in person. We tested the Remote Assist feature, which allows for calls and assistance within the AR environment. We also tested the Guides app, which allows for instructions and videos to be placed in the AR environment. The purpose of the days was also to go deeper into how AR/VR/360° videos can be used in education. Project meetings also included visits to landscape gardening company Appletern and landscaping design studio Siebers Group.
